TiviMate setup: add your Xtream Codes playlist and tune the guide

TiviMate makes an Android TV box or a Firestick feel like a cable box, programme grid and all. Here is how to add your login, tidy the guide and decide whether Premium is worth paying for.

TiviMate IPTV setup guide: install IPTV Jacom step by step

TiviMate setup is a ten-minute job: put the app on a Google TV, Android TV or Fire TV device, feed it your IPTV Jacom login as an Xtream Codes playlist, then wait while the grid fills itself in. TiviMate is built around the remote control. Its main screen is a scrolling programme grid, which is why people who cut the cable often feel at home in it straight away. It is not a phone app: on Android phones, Google Play offers only the companion app that manages Premium.

Without paying, you get live channels and the grid from a single playlist. The paid Premium tier layers on extras such as recording and a second playlist, as the table below sets out. Prices and feature lists change between versions, so read what follows as accurate as of 2026 and confirm inside the app before you pay.

Before step 1: have these ready

  • A Google TV or Android TV device, or a Fire TV Stick or Cube that still runs Fire OS
  • Your IPTV Jacom login email; a trial email carries the same three details
  • Fire TV only: the Downloader app, set up so it may install apps
  • Premium only: an Android phone to run TiviMate Companion

TiviMate setup with Xtream Codes, step by step

  1. Install TiviMate on Google TV or a Firestick

On Google TV or Android TV, open the Google Play Store, search for TiviMate and install TiviMate IPTV Player. The Amazon Appstore has no TiviMate listing, so a Firestick gets it through Downloader; our Fire TV Stick setup guide covers that part. The longer TiviMate on Firestick article adds tips for Canadian channel groups.

  2. Select Add playlist

A fresh install opens on a single large button, Add playlist. Select it. TiviMate then asks what kind of playlist you have; choose Xtream Codes. If all you have is an M3U link, the URL option takes it instead, but the Xtream route fetches the guide with less fuss.

  3. Type the three login details

In the server address field, type the full URL from your email, starting with http:// and ending with the port. Add the username and the password below it, then select Next. Typing with arrow keys is slow: the Google TV app and the Fire TV app on your phone both send text straight to the box.

  4. Check the summary, name the playlist, select Done

TiviMate reads the login and shows what it found, with counts for channels, movies and series. A count of zero or an error means one field is wrong; go back and compare it with the email. Otherwise select Next, keep or change the playlist name, and select Done.

  5. Let the programme guide load

Guide data downloads in the background straight after the playlist, and the grid fills in over a minute or two. With an Xtream Codes login there is no separate EPG address to add. If rows stay blank later, open Settings, then EPG, and run an update by hand.

  6. Set the guide to refresh on its own

Still under Settings, EPG, choose an update interval of a day or less, or updates on app start, so the listings never run dry. If every show is off by the same number of hours, check the time zone in the device's own settings first, then use the time shift option for the guide source.

  7. Hide the groups you never watch

With 55,000+ channels, trimming groups makes the grid much easier to scroll. In recent versions, go to Settings, Playlists, select your playlist, then Manage groups, and untick languages or regions you never watch. Nothing is deleted, and some group options need Premium. Our channel categories page shows what each group holds.

  8. Optional: buy and turn on Premium

Install TiviMate Companion from Google Play on an Android phone, create an account and buy Premium there. Back on the TV, open TiviMate's settings, find the Premium or account entry and sign in with the same account. As of 2026 the Companion is an Android app, so iPhone owners need to borrow an Android phone for the purchase.

TiviMate Premium: is the paid tier worth it?

TiviMate Premium is worth it if you want recording, catch-up, more than one playlist or full control over the grid. For plain live TV with a guide, the free version does the job.

Premium is billed in the Companion app, usually as a yearly fee; at times a one-time option has been offered too. That money goes to the app maker. It is separate from your IPTV Jacom plan and adds no channels.

Recording in TiviMate: what to know first

Recording needs Premium, free storage on the device and, when you watch one channel while recording another, a second screen on your plan.

  • Storage runs out fast. A Fire TV Stick has only a few gigabytes free, and an hour of HD can take 1.5 to 3 GB. Android TV boxes with a USB port can record to a USB drive; pick the folder under Settings, Recording.
  • Each recording is a live stream. Recording channel A while watching channel B uses two screens. On a 1-screen plan one of them stops; plans for 2 to 5 screens are on the IPTV subscription page.
  • The box must stay awake. Scheduled recordings run only while the device has power and TiviMate can start. A switched-off power bar means a missed game.
  • Catch-up may be simpler. On channels that offer it, playing a past programme from the grid saves both storage and setup.

Getting around the TiviMate guide with a remote

In most versions, pressing OK while a channel plays brings up the channel list, and pressing Left from there shows the groups. A few more moves cover nearly everything:

  • Hold OK on a channel for options such as adding it to favourites, hiding it or recording it (Premium).
  • Open the side menu to reach TV, Movies, Shows, Recordings, Search and Settings.
  • Settings, Appearance holds the look of the grid, such as text size and theme, depending on version.

If the grid feels busy, IPTV Smarters Pro offers a simpler, list-first layout with the same login. Our answer on whether IPTV has a TV guide explains where the listings come from.

TiviMate setup questions

Is TiviMate free?

Yes. Live channels and the programme grid from one playlist cost nothing. Premium is an optional upgrade sold by the app maker through TiviMate Companion, and it brings extras such as recording and extra playlists. Your IPTV Jacom plan is a separate purchase; TiviMate never charges for channels because it has none.

Can I use TiviMate on an iPhone, Apple TV or Samsung TV?

No. TiviMate is an Android TV app, and as of 2026 no version exists for Apple systems or for the Tizen and webOS software on Samsung and LG sets. On those, use another player that accepts Xtream Codes. If you really want TiviMate on one of those TVs, plug a Fire TV Stick or a Google TV streamer into a spare HDMI port.

Why does TiviMate show 0 channels after I add the playlist?

Almost always because one of the three login fields has a typo, most often the server address. Check the http:// at the start and the port at the end, then the username and password letter by letter. An expired trial also returns zero. If you have never had one, the free 24-hour trial gives you a fresh login to test.

Can I install TiviMate on a Formuler box?

In most cases, yes. Formuler boxes run Android, so TiviMate installs from Google Play where the model has it, or as an APK. Sign in with Xtream Codes details rather than the portal URL. If you would rather keep MyTVOnline, the MAG and Formuler guide explains the portal method.

Can TiviMate record on a 1-screen plan?

Yes, as long as only one stream runs at a time. You can record the channel you are watching, or record while nothing else plays. Recording one channel while watching a different one is two streams, which needs a plan with two screens or more. Remember that recording also needs TiviMate Premium and free storage.
