IPTV Jacom on Android TV
IPTV on Android TV and Google TV: install a player and sign in
Android TV and Google TV come with Google Play, so the player is one search away. Install it, type the three details from your welcome email, and the TV guide fills in on its own.
- About 10 minutes
- Works with trial and paid logins
- Every button named

IPTV on Android TV is one of the most direct setups we support, because the television already has Google Play. Grab TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro, copy in the three login details from your IPTV Jacom email (server address, username, password), and channels, movies and the TV guide appear within minutes. Google TV is the newer home screen on top of Android TV, so one method covers Sony, TCL and Hisense Google TV sets, the Chromecast with Google TV, the Google TV Streamer, the Nvidia Shield and most Android boxes.
One wrinkle: as of 2026, TiviMate is listed in Google Play, while IPTV Smarters Pro comes and goes by month and region. Step 4 covers that case with the free Downloader app. A free 24-hour trial login goes in exactly like a paid one.
Before step 1: have these ready
- An Android TV or Google TV device signed in to a Google account
- The server URL, username and password from your IPTV Jacom email or trial message
- 15 Mbps reaching the TV for HD, 25 Mbps or more for the 4K channels
- Around 1 GB of free storage (a Chromecast may need one unused app removed first)
Set up IPTV on Android TV or Google TV in 7 steps
Skip step 4 if Google Play already gave you the player you wanted.
Check whether you have Google TV or classic Android TV
Press the Home button. Tabs across the top such as For you, Movies, Shows and Apps mean Google TV. A plain row of app tiles under a search bar means classic Android TV. Both run the same players; only two switches in step 4 move.
Search Google Play for TiviMate
On Google TV, open the Apps tab and choose Search for apps, or hold the microphone button and say "TiviMate". On Android TV, open the Google Play Store tile. Pick TiviMate IPTV Player and select Install. It usually lands in under a minute and costs nothing.
Prefer IPTV Smarters Pro? Look for the official listing
Type IPTV Smarters Pro into the same search box. If the official listing from the Smarters developer shows up, install it and jump to step 5. Only clones with near-identical names? Skip them and use step 4.
Use Downloader when a player is missing from Google Play
Install Downloader by AFTVnews from Google Play. Some models hide the next menu until developer mode is on, so do that first. On Google TV, open Settings, System, About and press OK seven times on Android TV OS build. Classic Android TV calls the line Build, under Device Preferences, About.
Now allow the install. Google TV: Settings, Apps, Security & restrictions, Unknown sources, then turn Downloader on. Classic Android TV keeps that switch under Device Preferences. Open Downloader, type the link from the app maker's site or the one our team gives you, choose Go, then Install.
Add your IPTV Jacom playlist
TiviMate: on the welcome screen pick Add playlist and set the type to Xtream Codes. Copy the server address from your email character by character: it begins with
http://and ends with a colon and a port number. Add the username and password, then select Next. A summary lists how many live channels, films and series came through. Select Next once more, call the playlist "Jacom" or anything short, and press Done.IPTV Smarters Pro: pick Login with Xtream Codes API, fill in any profile name, the username, password and URL, then press Add User. Got an M3U link instead? Both apps take it under their playlist URL option.
Wait for the guide, then play a channel
The first sync brings in 55,000+ channels plus the listings, so allow a minute or two. TiviMate shows a thin progress bar while the TV guide (EPG) downloads. Then let a Canadian news channel run for a full minute. If it stutters, try the other decoder option in the player's playback settings. The IPTV Jacom channel list shows which groups are worth a spot in your favourites.
Put the app up front and stop the TV from dozing off
Highlight the player in the Your apps row, hold OK and choose Move to place it first. Then look under Settings, System, Energy or Power & Energy (the label depends on the model) and set the inactivity timer longer than a hockey game.
Chromecast with Google TV IPTV: what changes?
The steps stay the same on a Chromecast with Google TV, because it runs the same Google Play and the same players as a Google TV television. The hardware is what differs, and three limits matter for long evenings of live TV.
- Storage is tight. The dongle has 8 GB, and only a few gigabytes stay free after updates. Keep one player, and clear its cache now and then under Settings, Apps.
- There is no network port. A wired connection needs a USB-C Ethernet adapter with power pass-through.
- The HD model stops at 1080p. The 4K version plays the 4K channels at full resolution.
Google stopped making the Chromecast in 2024 and replaced it with the Google TV Streamer, which adds an Ethernet port and more room for apps. Existing Chromecasts still run both players as of 2026. Model-by-model settings help is on Google's Google TV support pages.
Which IPTV app works best on Android TV?
TiviMate suits people who watch a lot of live TV, and IPTV Smarters Pro suits people who want big, simple menus. Both read the same IPTV Jacom login, so trying one does not lock you in.
| App | Where to get it | Strong point | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|---|
| TiviMate | Google Play | Cable-style grid guide, quick zapping | Recording needs Premium |
| IPTV Smarters Pro | Google Play some months, otherwise Downloader | Clear tiles for Live TV, Movies and Series | Guide is a list, not a grid |
| OTT Navigator | Google Play | Deep settings for tinkerers | More menus to learn |

Android TV and Google TV problems, solved
Most trouble on Android TV comes from four places: Google Play hiding an app, full storage, a login typo, or a wrong clock.
- The store says the app is not compatible. Google Play hides phone-only apps from televisions. Use the TV edition, or the Downloader route in step 4.
- "Insufficient storage". Settings, Apps, pick the player, Clear cache.
- The login is refused. Re-enter each field. The server URL needs its port, and passwords are case sensitive.
- Guide times are off by whole hours. Set your city under Settings, System, Date & time, for example Halifax, Winnipeg or Edmonton.
- The picture freezes only in the evening. That points to home Wi-Fi. Move the box closer to the router, use the 5 GHz band, or plug in a cable.
IPTV on Android TV: common questions
Is TiviMate free on Android TV?
Yes, TiviMate is free to download and plays live channels with your IPTV Jacom login at no cost. As of 2026, a paid Premium tier adds recording, extra playlists and more guide settings. Premium is sold through the TiviMate Companion phone app, not by us, and every channel on your plan works without it.
Can I watch IPTV on a Sony or TCL Google TV without a box?
Yes. Sony, TCL and other Google TV televisions have Google Play built in, so the player installs straight onto the TV. Start at step 2. A box only helps when the TV is old and slow, or its Wi-Fi is weak with no Ethernet port. Our answer on the best device for IPTV goes further.
Why can't I find IPTV Smarters Pro in Google Play?
Because its listing is not always available in the Canadian store. As of 2026, IPTV Smarters Pro has come and gone from Google Play, and some televisions hide it as a phone app. Install TiviMate instead, or add Smarters with the Downloader method in step 4. Skip look-alikes with a similar name and a different publisher.
Does a Chromecast with Google TV play 4K IPTV channels?
The 4K model does; the HD model does not. The Chromecast with Google TV (4K) outputs up to 4K HDR, so 4K channels play at full resolution on a 4K television, while the HD version tops out at 1080p. Plan on roughly 25 Mbps reaching the dongle for steady 4K.
Can two Android TVs in my house use the same login?
Yes, if your plan covers two screens or more. A one-screen plan plays on one device at a time, so a second TV that starts a channel stops the first. Plans go up to 5 screens on one login, with each price listed on the IPTV subscription page.
