IPTV Jacom on Samsung TV
IPTV on Samsung Smart TV: find a Tizen app and log in
Samsung televisions run Tizen, not Android, so the player has to come from Samsung's own store. Here is how to choose one, what an activation screen means, and when a small stick is the calmer route.
- About 15 minutes
- Works with trial and paid logins
- Every button named

IPTV on a Samsung Smart TV runs through a player from the Samsung Apps store, because Tizen cannot install Android apps such as TiviMate. You search the store, install a player, and give it your IPTV Jacom login: the Xtream Codes details (server URL, username, password) or the M3U link from your email. Some Tizen players open on a device ID or MAC address instead of a login form; those finish on a website, and a few charge the app maker's own fee.
Player names in the Samsung store change by region and by year, so treat this page as a method, not a fixed shopping list. If the Canadian store has nothing suitable when you look, a Fire TV Stick or Google TV Streamer in a spare HDMI port is the dependable fallback.
Before step 1: have these ready
- A Samsung Smart TV signed in to a Samsung account and connected to the internet
- Your IPTV Jacom login email: server URL, username, password and, when included, the M3U link
- A phone or computer nearby, in case the player asks you to finish on a website
- A wired connection, or 5 GHz Wi-Fi giving the TV at least 15 Mbps (25 Mbps for 4K)
Samsung TV setup: from the Apps panel to your first channel
Update the TV before you search
Open Settings, then Support, then Software Update, and choose Update Now. On 2022 and newer sets these items sit under All Settings. Older firmware can hide newer players. About This TV, on the same menu, shows the model code our team may ask for.
Open Apps and search for a player
Press the Home button, move to Apps (the icon with four small squares), then pick the magnifying glass in the top corner. Type IPTV. A row of players appears. As of 2026, names such as IPTV Smarters Pro, Smart IPTV and IBO Player have shown up in some regions at different times; your TV may list others.
Read the listing before you press Install
Open a few listings and check three things: an update within the past year, a description that mentions Xtream Codes or M3U, and what the app costs after any trial. Pick the one that passes and choose Install, then Open. Skip any app that promises free channels; it is not built for your login.
Notice which kind of first screen you get
Tizen players come in two kinds. A login app shows fields for server URL, username and password. An activation app shows a MAC address or device ID, often with a device key and a web address. If you see the second kind, take a photo of the screen with your phone so the codes are easy to copy.
Login app: type your Xtream Codes details
Choose the Xtream Codes option and give the profile any name. Copy the three details from your IPTV Jacom email one field at a time, keeping the capitals, the dots and the port number on the server URL intact. The on-screen keyboard is slow with the Samsung remote. On most recent models the remote inside the SmartThings phone app can type the text for you. Select Login or Add User.
Activation app: add the playlist on the website
Type the web address from the TV screen into a phone or laptop browser. The page asks for the MAC address and device key from your photo. Paste your M3U link, or the Xtream details if the form offers those boxes, and press save or upload. Now quit the player on the TV completely and reopen it, since the playlist downloads at launch. No M3U link in your email? Our Live Chat team can supply one.
Test a channel and set the picture for sport
Open a live channel, then a movie from the on-demand section, to confirm both work. For hockey and soccer, open the picture settings and set Picture Clarity (called Auto Motion Plus on older sets) to Auto. Finally, highlight the player on the Home row, press down and choose Move to bring it near the start. The full channel list shows which groups to save as favourites.
Which Samsung Tizen IPTV app should you pick?
Pick the player that takes your login directly and was updated in the past year. That test beats any brand name, because the Samsung store list keeps changing.
| Kind of player | How you sign in | Cost to you | Our view |
|---|---|---|---|
| Xtream login player | Server URL, username and password on the TV | Often free, sometimes a small fee | The easiest match for IPTV Jacom |
| M3U player | Paste or type the playlist link | Often free | Works, but typing a long link on a TV is tedious |
| Web activation player | MAC address or device ID entered on the maker's site | Free week, then a fee to the developer | Fine if you accept the fee |
| "Free channels" app | Nothing to enter | Ads or a hidden subscription | Avoid: it is not built for your login |

When is a Fire TV Stick better than a Samsung app?
A stick is the better choice when the store has no suitable player, when the app crashes on an older Tizen set, or when you want the TiviMate guide. It plugs into any HDMI port. Turn on Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) under External Device Manager and the Samsung remote drives the stick too.
- Fire TV Stick 4K: the usual pick; our Fire TV Stick guide covers it.
- Google TV Streamer or Chromecast with Google TV: players install from Google Play; see the Android TV and Google TV guide.
- Phone mirroring: Galaxy phones use Smart View, and most Samsung sets from 2019 onward, plus some 2018 models, accept AirPlay from an iPhone. Fine for a quick look, tiring for a whole game.
Samsung IPTV app not working? Try these fixes
Most Samsung problems are a network hiccup, a full app cache or a login typo. Start at the top and stop when the picture returns.
- "Network error" in the player. Open Network Status under Settings, General, Network (newer sets: Connection, Network). If the TV is online, turn it off at the wall for one minute; Samsung sets keep running in standby and a real restart clears a lot.
- The app opens slowly or freezes. On 2020 and newer models, Settings, Support, Device Care, Manage Storage lets you clear an app's cache. Older sets need the app removed and reinstalled.
- Sound but a black picture. Switch the player's stream format between HLS and MPEG-TS and try again.
- The app vanished after an update. Players sometimes leave the store. If your copy stops working, choose another from step 2 or move to a stick.
- Buffering at busy hours. A cable from the router fixes most of it. Our IPTV buffering fix for Canada lists the next steps.
IPTV on Samsung TV: common questions
Is TiviMate available for Samsung Smart TVs?
No. TiviMate is written for Android, and Tizen, the system inside Samsung sets, cannot run Android software. You have two choices: a Tizen player from the Samsung store, or a small streaming stick from Amazon or Google plugged into the TV, with TiviMate installed on the stick.
Why does my Samsung IPTV app ask me to pay?
Some Tizen players switch to a paid activation once their trial week ends. The developer of the player collects that payment; it has nothing to do with your IPTV Jacom plan, and we do not sell activations for any app. To avoid the fee, choose a free player that takes a direct login, or move to a stick. We compare the choices in watching IPTV on a Smart TV without a box.
Does Samsung TV IPTV play in 4K?
Yes, when three things line up: a 4K Samsung set, a player that supports 4K streams, and about 25 Mbps of steady internet at the TV. The 4K channels in the lineup then play at full resolution. Some lighter Tizen players cap the picture at Full HD, so check the listing if 4K matters to you.
Is the setup the same on an LG TV?
The idea is the same, but the store, the menus and the remote are different. LG televisions run webOS and have their own app store, where player names also change by region. Our LG Smart TV guide walks through webOS step by step, including the Magic Remote.
Can I watch IPTV on my Samsung TV with only the free trial?
Yes. The free 24-hour trial gives you a working Xtream Codes login and M3U link, so you can test a Tizen player before paying anyone. If a player charges an activation fee later, its own free period covers your trial day. When you pick a subscription plan, change the username and password in the same app.
