IPTV on Hisense TV: VIDAA, Google TV and the HDMI route

Hisense sells televisions with more than one operating system in Canada. Ten seconds on the Home screen tells you which one you own, and that decides the whole setup.

Hisense TV (VIDAA) IPTV setup guide: install IPTV Jacom step by step

IPTV on a Hisense TV starts with one question: does your set run VIDAA or Google TV? Hisense Google TV models carry Google Play, so they install TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro and behave like any Android TV. VIDAA is Hisense's own system, with a small app store that seldom holds a full IPTV player as of 2026. On a VIDAA set, the dependable answer is a Fire TV Stick or Google TV device in an HDMI port, signed in with the Xtream Codes details from your IPTV Jacom email.

The steps branch after step 1, so follow the path for your system and skip the rest. Some Hisense sets run Roku TV, or Fire TV in some markets; the table further down points those owners to the right guide. Either way, the 24-hour free trial lets you test on the real TV before spending a dollar.

Before step 1: have these ready

  • Your Hisense remote and a minute to look at the Home screen
  • The server URL, username and password from IPTV Jacom (trial or paid)
  • VIDAA owners only: a streaming stick (Fire TV or Google TV) plus a spare HDMI port
  • A connection that tests above 15 Mbps beside the TV, or above 25 Mbps for 4K

Set up IPTV on a Hisense TV, whichever system it runs

Step 1 picks your path. Google TV owners do steps 2 and 3, VIDAA owners do steps 4 to 6, and everyone finishes with step 7.

  1. Identify the system on your Hisense

Press Home. Tabs such as For you and Apps across the top, plus Google Play in the app list, mean Google TV. Hisense's own menus with an app store labelled VIDAA Store or App Store, and no Google Play, mean VIDAA. A Roku home grid means Roku TV: use our Roku guide instead. The model page on the box or on Hisense's site also names the system.

  2. Google TV models: install a player from Google Play

Head to Apps and use Search for apps, or the microphone on the remote. The two players we suggest, TiviMate IPTV Player and IPTV Smarters Pro, are the same ones Sony and TCL owners use, although Smarters is only listed in some months. When neither appears, the Downloader backup in our Google TV setup page gets one installed.

  3. Google TV models: sign in and test

TiviMate asks what kind of playlist you are adding. After Add playlist, pick Xtream Codes, fill the three boxes from your welcome email (the server address keeps its http:// and port), and step through with Next until Done appears. Smarters users open the Xtream Codes API login tile and press Add User once the fields are filled. Watch one channel for a minute to be sure, then go to step 7.

  4. VIDAA models: give the VIDAA store one quick look

Open VIDAA Store from Home and search IPTV. As of 2026 the store holds few players, and those that appear often need web activation with the TV's MAC address plus a paid licence from the app developer. If one accepts Xtream Codes and shows recent updates, try it during your trial. If not, do not spend long here. Move to step 5.

  5. VIDAA models: plug in a stick and turn on HDMI-CEC

Connect a Fire TV Stick or Google TV Streamer to a free HDMI port. Power it from its own wall adapter, not the TV's USB port, which often cannot supply enough current. Press Input and select that HDMI port. Then switch on CEC in the TV settings; on VIDAA it is usually labelled CEC Function or HDMI CEC under System or Inputs. The Hisense remote can then wake the stick along with the TV.

  6. VIDAA models: install the player on the stick and sign in

On a Fire TV Stick, add TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro through Downloader, as shown in our Fire TV Stick guide. On a Google TV Streamer, install from Google Play. Sign in with your Xtream Codes login and let the guide load. From here the stick does all the work, so your Hisense shows the same menus and TV guide as any Fire TV or Google TV.

  7. Everyone: tune the picture and the power settings

Choose the Sports picture mode for games and Standard for news and movies. Then check the sleep timer and any auto-standby or energy-saving setting, and set them longer than a full match so the screen does not shut off in overtime. Finish by browsing the channel categories and saving your local and favourite channels.

Is there a VIDAA IPTV app?

Sometimes, but as of 2026 the VIDAA store carries far fewer IPTV players than Google Play, and the list changes by region. TiviMate does not exist for VIDAA, because VIDAA is not Android. The players that do turn up tend to use MAC-address activation and a yearly fee to their developer, which is separate from your IPTV Jacom plan.

If you want to try one anyway, check these points first:

  • It names Xtream Codes or M3U in the description, not just "free channels".
  • It has been updated within the past year.
  • The fee, if any, is clear before you enter your login anywhere.

For nightly viewing we still suggest a stick. It gets regular updates, runs the well-known players, and moves with you to the next TV. Our post on IPTV box versus Fire TV Stick compares the hardware.

Hisense models in Canada and the system each one runs

Hisense uses several operating systems across its range, sometimes within one series, so go by the Home screen rather than the series name. This table matches what you see to the setup that works.

Casting and mirroring to a Hisense TV

Every Hisense system accepts some form of casting, which works for a quick look but not as a daily setup. Google TV models have Chromecast built in, so a phone player with a Cast button can send the stream to the TV. VIDAA models offer screen mirroring from Android phones and Windows laptops, often through a feature called Anyview Cast, and many recent sets also list AirPlay for iPhones.

IPTV on Hisense TV: common questions

Does TiviMate run on a Hisense VIDAA TV?

No, because VIDAA is Hisense's own system and TiviMate exists only for Android. Put TiviMate on a streaming stick instead, either a Fire TV Stick or a Google TV Streamer, and plug that into the Hisense. Owners of a Hisense Google TV have it easier: TiviMate comes straight from Google Play, with nothing extra to buy.

How do I know if my Hisense TV is a Google TV?

Look for Google Play in the app list and tabs such as For you across the top of the Home screen. If both are there, it is a Google TV. Settings will also mention a Google account. No Google Play means VIDAA, Roku TV or Fire TV, and the table on this page shows the route for each.

Do I need a box for IPTV on a Hisense TV?

Only on VIDAA and Roku TV models. Google TV and Android TV Hisense sets install a player directly, so no box is needed. On VIDAA, a small streaming stick in an HDMI port does the same job as a box and hides behind the TV. Our answer on what an IPTV box is explains the different types.

Can several Hisense TVs in one home share a login?

Yes, up to the number of screens on your plan. One login can play on as many as 5 TVs at once if you choose a 5-screen plan, and on one TV at a time with a 1-screen plan. Mixed homes work too, for example a VIDAA set with a stick plus a Google TV. Prices for every screen count are on the subscription page.
