Why is my IPTV not working right now?
Is IPTV down in Canada, or only for you?
No single IPTV network in Canada goes down for everybody at once. Each provider runs its own servers, so when IPTV is down in Ontario or elsewhere, the outage usually belongs to one provider, one internet company or one home. The quickest way to tell is to test from a second connection.
Turn on your phone's hotspot, connect the TV or stick to it and open the same channel. If it plays on cellular data but not on home Wi-Fi, the trouble lies between your router and your internet provider. If it fails on both, look at the device, the login or the server. The free CIRA Internet Performance Test, run by the non-profit that manages .ca domains, shows whether your line delivers the speed you pay for.
Outages limited to one internet company during a big game can have a legal cause. Since 2022, Federal Court orders have required several large Canadian internet providers to block specific streaming servers during live sports. If that is the reason, it is a legal matter rather than a fault inside your home.
What should you check first when IPTV stops working?
Work from the quickest fix to the slowest; the whole list takes about five minutes.
- Test another app. Play a YouTube video on the same TV. If it stalls too, the internet or Wi-Fi is at fault, not IPTV.
- Try three channels. One dead channel points to that feed. Every channel dead points to the login, the app or the server.
- Force-close the player. On a Fire TV Stick or Android TV, open Settings, then Applications, select the app and choose Force Stop before reopening it.
- Restart the router and the device. Unplug both for 30 seconds. Power the router first and wait for its lights to settle.
- Check the end date. Most players show it under Account, User Info or the playlist details. An expired plan looks exactly like an outage.
- Ask support. The Live Chat team can see whether other viewers are reporting the same thing.
Common IPTV problems and what they mean
The message on screen usually tells you where to look. Match what you see to a row and try that fix.
| What you see | Likely cause | First fix |
|---|---|---|
| "Invalid login" or "Authorization failed" | A typo, an ended plan, or too many screens playing | Retype the details, check the end date, stop other screens |
| One channel black, the rest fine | That feed is down at its source | Try the alternate listing of the channel, or report it |
| Freezing mostly in the evening | Busy Wi-Fi or network congestion at peak hours | Use Ethernet or 5 GHz Wi-Fi; pick HD instead of 4K |
| App closes or will not open | Full storage, an outdated app or a corrupted cache | Clear the cache, then update or reinstall the player |
| Channels play, guide is blank | Guide data not loaded yet | Refresh the EPG in the app |
| Error 403, 404 or 500 | Access refused, wrong address or a server fault | Restart the app, then send support the code |
Two posts cover the stubborn cases: stopping IPTV buffering and what HTTP 403 and 500 errors mean. A blank grid is explained in how the IPTV TV guide works.
Is it the server or your subscription?
Suspect the server when every channel fails on every device at the same moment while YouTube and Netflix keep playing. Suspect the subscription when the error mentions your login, your account or an expiry. Servers can also slow down when a playoff game or a title fight pulls a huge audience at once.
IPTV Jacom works to a 99.9% uptime target and keeps backup streams for major games, but no internet service can promise zero downtime. If the plan simply ran out, renewing the subscription adds time to the same login, and channels return once the payment is matched.
What to send support for a fast fix
Five details let support find the problem without a long back-and-forth. Open Live Chat or write to help@supportiptv.ca with:
- Your username
- The device and app, for example "Fire TV Stick 4K, TiviMate"
- The channel name and the time it stopped
- The exact error, or a phone photo of the screen
- Your internet provider, and whether the TV uses Wi-Fi or a cable
The team replies in English and French every day, 9 a.m. until midnight ET. Messages sent overnight are picked up first thing in the morning.
Related questions people type
Why does IPTV work on my phone but not on my TV?
Usually because the two use different connections or different apps. A phone on cellular data skips your home Wi-Fi entirely, and a phone player may handle a stream differently from the TV player. Restart the app on the TV, move the router closer or run an Ethernet cable, and check whether the TV app needs an update.
Why does IPTV stop working at night?
Evenings are when most Canadian homes stream at once, so household Wi-Fi and internet networks are busiest from roughly 7 to 11 p.m. Freezing that starts after supper and clears late points to congestion, not a dead service. A wired connection, the 5 GHz Wi-Fi band and the HD version of a channel instead of 4K all lighten the load.
How do I know if my IPTV subscription has expired?
Open the account or playlist information in your player; Xtream Codes logins show an end date there. An expired plan normally triggers an authorization or login error on every channel at the same time. IPTV Jacom plans never renew on their own, so service stops at the end of the months you bought unless you extend.
Which IPTV services are working right now?
We can only speak for our own servers, and the fastest way to check those is to ask IPTV Jacom support in Live Chat. Online lists claiming to show which services are up are often stale. When choosing a service, a free trial on a weeknight evening tells you more than any status page.
